Campaigns

We build new clubs and support all clubs in achieving excellence.

In order to achieve this, we have many campaigns to help build members and membership.  Here are the campaigns to help through the year.

Toastmasters Founder Ralph Smedley

Smedley Award

Program Dates: August 1 – September 30

Can your club add five new, dual, or reinstated members with a join date between August 1 and September 30? Accomplish this goal and you’ll qualify to receive a Smedley Award ribbon, named in honor of Ralph Smedley, which you can display on your club’s banner. Qualifying clubs can also earn a special discount code for 10% off their next club order. (The discount code expires six months from the date of issue and is not valid with any other offer.)

Applications and payments for members with a join date between August 1 and September 30 must be received at World Headquarters or online no later than September 30. The addition of transfer and charter members does not count toward Smedley Award credit.

The winning clubs will be revealed online within a few weeks of the submission deadline. Winning clubs should allow up to 10 business days to receive their award if they are located in the United States, and up to 21 business days if they are outside of the United States.

#MyWhy

#MyWhy

Program Dates: September 1 – September 30

Why do you love Toastmasters?  What brings you out week after week and help your club be the best it can be?  Everyone has their own reasons and we want to hear yours.

Through the month of September we invite you to record a video and tell the world your why.

Submit your videos to the District 123 Facebook or LinkedIn pages, or post them on your club’s Facebook or LinkedIn page with #MyWhy.  A video release form needs to be sent (download here) before the end of the day on September 30 and you will be entered to win prizes and have your why used in a social media campaign for your club.

The top 3 winners will be announced in October

Woman with megaphone

#WhyTI

Program Dates: October 1 – November 30

There is nothing more powerful than hearing success stories and first hand accounts of how effective a program is to build membership.  We want to share with the world about how Toastmasters can help others in our communities.

Throughout the months of October and November, selected video testimonials from the #MyWhy campaign will be used to promote Toastmasters throughout Ontario.

Will your message be the why that helps others realize their goals?

Details to come.

Happy New Year

New Years Resolutions

Program Dates: January 1 – February 1

Every year millions of people around the world commit to improving themselves but the success rate without assistance is actually very low.  We can help.

With millions of success stories and a very low cost, Toastmasters clubs can be the difference that makes New Years Resolutions stick.  Where else can you better your communications and leadership skills, increase your confidence and develop habits that affect all aspects of your life – AND costs as little as $12.50 a month?  Toastmaster!

The District 123 Communications Team will be working with clubs around the district to spread the message of how Toastmasters can help people be successful in 2022.  Club executives will receive a full promotional plan in December to help prepare.

Details to come.

Toastmasters Talking

Talk Up Toastmasters

Program Dates: February 1 – March 31

Toastmasters love to connect, so take advantage of it. The Talk Up Toastmasters membership program is the chance to encourage your members to invite guests to a special meeting where prospective members can learn about Toastmasters’ many benefits. Then add five new, dual or reinstated members with a join date between February 1 and March 31, and you’ll receive a special Talk up Toastmasters ribbon to display on your club’s banner.

Qualifying clubs can also earn a special discount code for 10% off their next club order. (The discount code expires six months from the date of issue and is not valid with any other offer.)

Applications and payments for members with a join date between February 1 and March 31 must be received at World Headquarters or online no later than March 31. The addition of transfer and charter members does not count towards Talk Up Toastmasters credit.

Beat the clock

Beat the Clock

Program Dates: May 1 – June 30

Toastmasters are taught to run meetings on time, finish speeches on time and reach membership goals on time. In that spirit, Beat the Clock is a great motivator for finishing the year on schedule—on time and with record numbers!  Make it your club’s goal to earn the Beat the Clock award and encourage every member to take part. Clubs adding five new, dual or reinstated members with a join date between May 1 and June 30 receive a Beat the Clock ribbon to display on the club’s banner. Qualifying clubs also earn a special discount code for 10% off their next club order. (The discount code expires six months from the date of issue and is not valid with any other offer.)

Applications and payments for members with a join date between May 1 and June 30 must be received at World Headquarters or online no later than June 30. The addition of transfer and charter members does not count toward Beat the Clock credit.
