Distinguished Club Program

To be considered for recognition as a high-quality club, there are 2 criteria with four categories to achieve.  Clubs will be recognized by the goals met.

Criteria 1:  Membership:  A club must have a minium of 20 members or a net gain of 5 members since July 1 of the current Toastmasters year.

Criteria 2:  Distinguished Club Goals.

  • 5 goals achieved = Distinguished Club
  • 7 goals achieved = Select Distinguished Club
  • 9 goals achieved = President’s Distinguished Club

Education

Earn up to six educational awards through Pathways..

Membership

2 goals cover 4 new members each for a total of 8 new members over a year.

Training

Club officers must attend Phase 1 club officer training by August 31 and Phase 2 club officer training by Feb 28 to qualify. All club officers should attend training to benefit from sharing ideas with their peers.

Administration

On-time payment of membership dues by Oct 1 and April 1 and club officer list submitted before June 30 for the majority of clubs who have annual elections. Semi-annual clubs will need to submit by Dec. 31 and June 30.

Education

A club can earn up to 6 educational awards through Pathways.

 

  1. Four Level 1 awards achieved
  2. Two Level 2 awards achieved
  3. Two more Level 2 awards achieved
  4. Two Level 3 awards achieved
  5. One Level 4, Level 5, or DTM award achieved
  6. One more Level 4, Level 5, or DTM award achieved

Only members in good standing are eligible to earn education awards.

A member in good standing is one whose dues have been paid by the club and received by World Headquarters by March 31 for the April-September period and by September 30 for the October-March period. All award applications must be complete and received by World Headquarters by June 30.

Clubs may credit only one type of education award per member per year. This encourages all members to progress in the education program, not just a few.

Credit for an award may be given to only one club. Members who belong to more than one club must choose which club
receives credit for any one of their awards prior to the award being submitted to World Headquarters.

Membership to Date

In order for the club to remain in good standing, the club must either have 20 members or a net growth of at least five members from July 1 to June 30.

Focus on Membership Growth

There are 2 membership goals. Each goal completed, gives your club a credit in the Distinguished Club Program.

  1. Four new members join the club
  2. Four more new members join the club

A club must submit a membership application to World Headquarters, along with corresponding membership dues for each new, dual, and reinstated member who joins during the Toastmasters year. (Transfer and charter members do not count toward your club’s membership goals.)

For clubs to receive credit in the Distinguished Club Program for the current Toastmasters year, membership applications and new membership dues must be received by World Headquarters no later than June 30.

Training

President, VP of Education, VP of Membership, VP Public Relations, Secretary, Treasurer, and Sergeant at Arms should be trained in their responsibilities. Officers must attend two district-sponsored training sessions. The training goal is achieved when four officers are trained.

Administration

Goal 10 is Admininstration which consist of:

1. On-time payment of membership dues accompanied by the names of eight members (at least three of whom must be renewing members) for one period and on-time submission of one club officer list.

2. Your club’s October–March membership dues accompanied by the names of eight members (at least three of whom must be renewing members) are received by World Headquarters on or before October 1

OR

Your club’s April–September membership dues and names of eight members (at least three of whom must be renewing members) are received by World Headquarters on or before April 1
