Conference Chair

Under the guidance of the District Director and Program Quality Director, I am responsible for coordinating all aspects of the conference, suggesting venue options, scheduling presenters, and providing onsite assistance. I collaborate with the finance, education, venue, and public relations chairs to help the conference meet the District’s goals. Want to help out at our spring conference? Program Quality Events
The Program Quality Director is responsible for coordinating, and managing District-level club officer training.
In addition to the district Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) club officer training events, each division directors will conduct at least 1 training session during the official timeframes.
Members are encouraged to register and attend club officer training.
There are 2 phases of COT training:
Phase 1 (June 1 – August 31) and Phase 2 (November 1 – Feb 28(29)). Only club officers are eligible for credit, but any member may attend.

The Program Quality Director coordinates and supervises all District-level contests and administers policy on all District Speech contests.
The Program Quality director will plan, organize, and direct the event and will work with the District Director to ensure all costs and contracts are acceptable.
The Program Quality Director will manage the incentives relating to district education and training programs. Incentives will cover club officer training, and member education awards.
Program Quality Responsibilities

Club Officer Training
Club Officer training is presented in 2 phases: Phase 1 – June 1 – August 31. Initial introduction to the club officer role. Phase 2 – November 1 – February 28 (29). Review Role, Discussion on what’s working, what’s not working All members are welcome to attend the training. Only club officers attending training for their role receive credit for themselves and their club (Goal 9 on the Distinguished Club Programme). You are encouraged, for yourself and the club, to attend both Phase 1 and 2 training.

District Conference
Annually, District 123 will host a District Conference in April/May. The Conference will host the District Annual Business Meeting (District Council), voting on District business and new leaders for the following Toastmasters year, District-level speech contests, workshops, keynote speaker(s), and special awards including the Community Service award presented to a Toastmasters member that uses communication and leadership skills to provide service in the community, the Exemplary award presented to a past District leader who continues to support the District, and the Communication & Leadership award presented to a non-Toastmaster who uses their communication and leadership skills to make a difference in their community.

Speech Contests
District 123 hosts multiple speech contests each year with actual contests determined by the District Executive Committee (DEC). District 123 will choose International + 1 or 2 others from Evaluation, Table Topics, Tall Tales, and Online. Club level contests will begin in September followed by Area, Division and District. International in December/January at the club level.
Clubs can conduct a contest or appoint their representative at the Area contest. Areas and divisions must hold contests. If 4 clubs in an area, or 4 areas in a division, 2 representatives can be sent to the next contest level.
